As the present downturn in the economy proves, we cannot sit back and rely on the sun, available land and growth to guide the economic development of our state. Yet when key opportunities to increase our competitiveness have been presented to the legislature, our elected official have failed to act with our interests in mind.
With vision and action, we can create a competitive marketplace that will attract the brightest and best around the country to pursue their careers and develop their businesses in Arizona making it a state that proves to be a good investment for each of us. We need a state legislature that can, and will, work with the Business Community, Education Boards, County and City governments to create public policy that attracts our nation's top industries to Arizona by developing more opportunities for research, development and innovation. We must act now to become a market leader or we will once again lose out to states that are investing in their futures more than we are. |
