Healthcare must be affordable and accessible to all Arizonans. An ill child, pregnant woman, injured worker or ailing senior must not forego medical attention due to economic circumstances.
First, I propose we put our money where our mouth is by granting preference for government contracts to those companie that provide employees with health insurance.
Second, I propose that we expand access to the state insurance plans under Health Care Group of Arizona to all working families, not just the self-employed. By expanding the program we make it stronger for its participants and increase access to affordable healthcare at no cost to Arizona taxpayers.
Third, I propose that we provide all women with access to prenatal care and all children with healthcare coverage so that family planning decisions are not based upon the availability of medical care.
Last, I propose we continue to expand our prescription drug benefits to seniors.
